U.S. wood-furniture duties are set to rise on 1 January 2027
Under Section 232, upholstered wooden furniture and kitchen cabinets & vanities have carried a 25% additional U.S. duty since 14 October 2025. A December 2025 proclamation deferred the next step by a year: 30% on upholstered wood furniture and 50% on cabinets & vanities from 1 January 2027, except for partners that reach an agreement. Shipments that clear before that date pay today's rate.

What is HS Chapter 94?
The Harmonized System (HS) is the World Customs Organization's product nomenclature used by customs administrations worldwide. Chapter 94 covers furniture, bedding and mattresses, luminaires and lighting fittings not covered elsewhere, illuminated signs, and prefabricated buildings.
Are the calculators' results binding?
No. They are estimates for planning. Duty rates and additional measures change often; confirm with your customs authority or a licensed customs broker, or request a binding ruling.
Is the quote service really free?
Yes for buyers. We may receive referral fees from partners, which never changes the price you are quoted. See our disclosures.
What does “000094” mean?
It's our domain name — a zero-padded “94”, a nod to Chapter 94. It is a descriptive number, not a product code, and we're not affiliated with any customs authority.
